About GC Framing

Built in San Diego, one license at a time

GC Framing was founded in San Diego in 2017 by Gilberto C., a licensed California contractor. He started in construction in 2007 in termite control, specializing in structural wood repairs, and launched his own venture in 2010 – years of hands-on work restoring and protecting homes.

That foundation grew into a full-service general contracting business: remodels, kitchens and baths, room additions, framing and rough carpentry, decks and patio covers, interior and exterior painting, plumbing, and ground-mounted solar support. The C-5 license came in 2017, C-33 after it, the general building “B” license in 2022, and the C-36 plumbing license in 2026.

Since 2025 we also serve Big Bear, where we adapt to snow loads, freeze and thaw cycles, and cabin construction. Off the job, Gilberto races cross-country mountain bikes – California State Champion in 2014, State Series Champion in 2015 and 2017, and Endurance XC champion in 2017 and 2022. Same approach either way: show up, do the work, finish strong.

What areas do you serve?

All of San Diego County, with an emphasis on South and East County – Chula Vista, San Diego, Bonita, National City, Imperial Beach, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, El Cajon, Santee, Alpine and Poway. Since 2025 we also serve the Big Bear community.

Do you charge for estimates?

No. Estimates are free. We walk the job, talk through options and grades to fit your budget, and put the quote in writing before anything starts – no surprise change orders.

Can one contractor really handle framing, painting and plumbing?

Yes, when the licenses are held in house. Because we carry all four classifications, a single crew and a single point of contact can take a project from structural framing through plumbing rough-in to final paint, without you coordinating three companies.

Do you build ADUs and room additions?

Yes. Under our B general building license we handle new construction, ADUs, room additions, kitchen and bathroom remodels, full interior and exterior remodels, finish carpentry, decks, patio covers, siding, fences and structural restoration.

Do you offer emergency plumbing service?

Yes. We take emergency plumbing calls during business hours and return after-hours callbacks for active leaks, burst pipes, failed water heaters and sewer backups. Because we also frame, drywall and paint, we can repair what the leak damaged instead of handing you off.
